Selective Testing Is Here!

With the release of the BBCS 5.3.6 Primary Application blood centers can now exclude individual blood test, such as the Chagas test, based on the donor’s history. Our goal by giving the Primary Application the ability to do selective testing is to reduce blood center expenses by allowing them to conduct only the necessary test. Based on the average cost of a single Chagas test this could save your facility $10-20k or more per month. In the past the FDA has required that all donated blood receive the same series of tests available, but now the test for Chagas is the only test that needs to be conducted one time per donor. As of April 1st testing labs will be increasing the cost of a single Chagas test, in some cases almost doubling it. To schedule your demo contact Ken Ottrix at kottrix@bbcsinc.com
