The February issue of AABB News featured an insightful piece written by Peggy Dunn, “Leveraging Lean in Information Technology”. Peggy is the Director of Information Technology at the Puget Sound Blood Center, the largest electronic cross-match laboratory in the nation. BBCS has worked closely with Peggy and the Puget Sound Blood Center for more than 15 years. Peggy’s article discusses how the struggling economy has forced companies in all industries to cut expenses and implement new methods to increase efficiency. She focuses on three specific methodologies being used by blood centers around the nation, including their own at Puget Sound.
