ISBT/128 Labeling

Blood Bank Control System 5.0 incorporates the ISBT/128 standards. BBCS went well beyond simply allowing for a 13 digit unit number. In the fall of 2006, Puget Sound Blood Center, processing over 200,000 units annually, was the first BBCS client to implement ISBT/128 standard in their facility with BBCS 5.0.

  • Unit ID Set labels can be generated on demand
  • Product labels are automatically generated while creating components, modifying components, or creating a pooled product on a 4x2 or 4x4 label
  • ABO labels are automatically generated on a 2x4 or 4x4 label
  • Special designation indication is included in the ABO barcode and product labels
  • Standard biohazard warning symbol is optional based on reactive test
  • Intended Recipient labels may be automatically generated on a 2.5x1 label when appropriate
  • CMV indication is included on the label when desired
