Patient Inquiry Application

The Blood Bank Control System (BBCS) Patient Inquiry (PIQ) Application is designed to keep your facility running during a critical time when emergency downtime is being experienced. While not common, there are situations that could prohibit you from accessing your patient data in the BBCS Primary Application, both planned and unplanned. With the Patient Inquiry Application you can be prepared for these critical times. PIQ allows you to view patient information and make the same informed decisions as they relate to blood transfusion orders. PIQ is an inquiry function used by a Transfusion Laboratory Technologist to review patient demographic information, last specimen references, patient order history, patient transfusion history, antigen and antibody history and patient process requirements. Any existing patient record can be viewed but new patient records cannot be created in PIQ.
