Elizabeth Simon
President and Chief Executive Officer

Elizabeth (Beth) Simon is President and Chief Executive Officer of BBCS, Inc. Ms. Simon joined Blood Bank Computer Systems as a software developer in 1989 with a background in software development, implementation and training for the manufacturing and distribution industries. In 1991, she assumed additional responsibilities for the development of the BBCS software application, at which point she implemented change control and validation procedures. She served as Vice President for nearly 3 years before solely purchasing the company in 1995.

As President and CEO of the organization, Ms. Simon has been actively involved with the growth and automation of the company and the enhancements of the software application. Through the past 20 plus years, Ms. Simon has provided the leadership required to see an average of over 10% growth in new clients each year, providing one of the first 510(k) approved software applications to the blood banking industry, and has continued to expand the organizations leadership and in-turn more robust and quality driven products to market. Ms. Simon and her organization participate with, partner, and support the missions and objectives of the National Blood Foundation, AABB, and Americas Blood Centers.

Tom Metcalf
Director of Customer Service & Operations

Tom joined BBCS in 2007, assuming the responsibilities of increasing responsiveness to our clients, streamlining and enhancing implementation support, managing and growing client support services, expanding client knowledge. Tom also provide leadership in the areas of both corporate and product QA, product labeling and technical services while ensuring the business operations of BBCS continue to support key objectives.

Tom has over 15 years of IT and business experience. He has worked in the food manufacturing and distribution industry as both an IS Manager and General Manager, and most recently, for Kent School District as the Director of Technical/Application Services. He holds a BA degree in Business Administration from Northwest University and serves his community as the President of the Rainier Symphony.

Brian Forbis
Director of Products & Sales

Brian originally joined BBCS in 2004, returning in 2007 to assume the responsibilities of ensuring public awareness of our commitment to quality and customer service, furthering our recognition as an industry leader, providing accurate representation to the public of our applications and our organization, expanding our market share in current markets, expanding into new markets, and identifying areas where BBCS can assist clients in growth. Brian has over 7 years of combined Sales & Marketing and IT experience. He most recently worked for Keystone Resorts managing online projects and online marketing campaigns. He holds a BS degree in Information Technology, Administrative Management and Network Administration from Central Washington.

Cathy Williams
Customer Service Manager

In August 2006, Cathy joined Blood Bank Computer Systems in the Customer Services division. As a Medical Technologist MT(ASCP), she has been working with transfusion service laboratories and community blood banks since 1993. In those environments she has held technical, management, quality assurance and information technology positions. Before joining BBCS, Cathy was employed with Virginia Blood Services, American Association of Blood Banks and as an Implementation consultant for National Institutes of Health and Atlanta Blood Service. Cathy’s strength in client management paired with her obvious team building capabilities, led her to be promoted to the role of Customer Services Manager in 2009. Cathy is now responsible for client management, training and consulting services as we well as ensuring client and product support is meeting both the client and BBCS expectations.

Jordan Ford
Product Development Manager

In July 2009, Jordan joined BBCS to provide a commitment of Project Management methodologies to the Research and Development division. His ability to see the holistic view of each project, combined with his strong work ethic and commitment to quality have enabled him to provide immediate impacts to the BBCS Production Schedule. Originally joining the team as a Project Manager, Jordan was promoted to the role of Product Development Manager in March 2011 where he is now responsible for the design and development process of the BBCS Software Development Life Cycle.

Jordan has over 6 years of combined Project Management and Sales & Marketing experience. He most recently worked for Infinity Properties managing Real Estate Investment projects. He holds a BA degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Business Management from Washington State University.

Janel Hermsmeyer
Manager of Product Quality and Technical Services

Janel returned to BBCS in 2011 after a 4 year absence, and now oversees the testing and labeling of all products. Janel and her team provide device verification and validation, while ensuring documentation meets regulatory and client needs. She is committed to educating the organization on the products developed and their intended use. With a strong background in both IT, implementation and Customer Service, Janel works with her staff to ensure quality products are manufactured, delivered and supported during each release process.

Janel started with BBCS in 1993 performing software validation where she learned the BBCS Applications and first became introduced to the blood banking industry. Over the course of 13 years at BBCS, she worked in all areas of the organization from Customer Service to Operations. For four years she then served as an IT Applications Manager and Enterprise Systems Manager, overseeing internal software development and network infrastructure for a company of 500 employees across the West Coast. Janel brings over 15 years of IT systems and business management to the organization and holds a BS in Mathematics and Art from the University of Puget Sound.
